EcoSafety Ltd based in the Scottish Borders is recognised as one of the most progressive Health & Safety Consultancies and providers of practical training. With a prestige client portfolio, EcoSafety Ltd has worked on sites across Europe, Scandanavia and as far afield as Indonesia.
With extensive experience in Health, Safety and Environmental consultancy and training the company Directors and Staff are not only well qualified professionally, technically and academically but have a proven track record of industrial experience.
It’s this knowledge derived from years of business management that sets EcoSafety Ltd apart. We are practitioners who know from experience what can and does work, with the ability to communicate that effectively to our clients.
Non Executive Director
Jim Shepherd established EcoSafety Ltd in 2006 in partnership with his wife Helen, recognizing the need for a quality Health, Safety and Environmental consultancy within the Borders. Jim was formerly Managing Director of EcoSafety Ltd but now retains a non-executive role within the business.
He has over 20 years of experience operating at Senior Management level, determining and dictating strategic corporate Policy & Procedures. He is successful, conscientious and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety professional with experience across a wide variety of industrial sectors.
Director and Office Manager
Prior to establishing EcoSafety in 2006 with husband Jim, Helen worked in Personnel Management and Training for over twenty years in the Electronics industry (both Printed Circuit Board Fabrication and the Electronic Manufacturing Sectors). Helen worked part time as an HR Consultant in 2004 for Environmental and Health & Safety Consultants when her family was still at a young age.
Helen is now responsible for the management and operational running of EcoSafety Ltd. She organises all the company day to day and long term activities and contracts. Helen interfaces directly with the client base, handling training requirements and matching them to the range of subject specialists who deliver courses. Helen also manages the company office, the document approvals processes, systems reviews and updates, and all financially related matters.
Director of Health & Safety Operations
Iain has a solid, practical background in Environmental, Health and Safety derived from over 10 years spent in senior management positions. During his career, within a number of manufacturing industries in both Scotland and England, he has accumulated a wealth of professional knowledge that he now shares with EcoSafety clients. Prior to joining EcoSafety Ltd in 2007 Iain also spent time as a college lecturer in engineering and management studies, valuable, additional skills that he utilizes daily within our business.
He is a systems specialist having extensive experience in generating and implementing ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 to full accreditation standard. Iain has a wealth of knowledge in dealing with External Accreditation Bodies and regulators as well as being our industrial noise specialist (conducting noise monitoring, surveys and providing personal noise exposure levels).
Iain become our Director of Health & Safety Operations in 2010.
Gavin Kellett CMIOSH
Health & Safety Consultant
Gavin is a Chartered Safety & Health Practitioner with knowledge relating to a diverse range of business sectors. He promotes a practical approach to health and safety and legal compliance with all his clients.
He has extensive knowledge not only of safety and health, but of the compliance requirements for standards such as Achilles, Construction-line and OHSAS18001.
Gavin is our ITSSAR Approved (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register) Fork Lift, Excavator, Pallet truck Instructor/Examiner.
In addition he specialises in the delivery of practical training e.g. Working at Heights, Abrasive Wheels, Manual Handling etc.
Gavin spends most of his spare time outdoors, as he is a qualified walking/climbing instructor and International Mountain Leader, working with a range of clients such as schools and adult groups within the UK, throughout Europe and beyond. He is also a longstanding member of the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team.
